About Us
Our Estate
Sandringham Estate is renowned as the private country retreat of King Charles III and Queen Camilla. Beyond its stunning House and Gardens, the Estate is a vibrant working land dedicated to conservation and stewardship.
Organic Farming
Covering over 6,000 hectares, Sandringham Estate practices organic farming. The Estate’s Farms Department manages 2,400 hectares to grow various crops, including heritage grains, wheat, barley, beans, and oats. The Estate also raises a flock of 3,000 Aberfield sheep and native Shorthorn crossbreed cattle, providing organic, grass-fed meat for its Restaurant and Café, UK farm shops, and a premium retailer. Tenant farmers on the Estate grow organic potatoes, onions, pork, and poultry.
Innovative Conservation
In a commitment to conservation, Sandringham has integrated agroforestry into its farming. This approach combines crops and livestock with woodland and trees, enhancing biodiversity. Cider apple, perry pear, and mulberry trees are planted in rows with wildflower strips. The cider apples and perry pears produce Sandringham Apple Juice, with tens of thousands of bottles crafted annually on-site.
